To some, social media marketing is simply a “passing trend”, with no practical advantages and a rough learning curve.

To entrepreneurs, it’s a powerful tool. A way to place the spotlight on any given business.

Because of how quickly it has grown, it is understandable that some think it to be passing market interest. However, the statistics illustrate a separate story.

According to Social Media Examiner, 97% of marketers currently place a heavy emphasis on social media platforms. Unfortunately, 85% of participants do not have a grasp on the most efficient social media marketing techniques.

Another study done by Hubspot in 2014, shows that more than 90% of marketing consultants put a heavy emphasis on social media.

Clearly, this is a solid indicator of the potential for increased revenue by leveraging this “rising trend”. However, it appears that there is a disconnect between speculative opportunity and execution.

I recommend starting small. You won’t have to worry about going over budget, and you can certainly increase your investment as you reap the rewards. Not only can you leverage your dollars further, but you can save a ton of time and still get results.

All you need is to dedicate as little a 30 minutes per day and you will start seeing serious results. For companies with a following that is less than 10,000 – it is recommended to post no more than 2 times per day. Why is this important? The probability that your competitors have already begun interacting on social media is extremely high. This means that your potential customers are being taken or converted by competitors.
